The Context

Carsome's B2B platform is where dealers source and manage their inventory. The experience covered basic browsing and bidding, but nothing more. Dealers making serious purchasing decisions were filling the gaps manually.

The Challenge

The tool had no search depth, no inventory transparency, and no way to track performance. That created friction, weakened platform stickiness, and slowed deal velocity on both sides of the marketplace.

The Approach

I led end-to-end product design from discovery through launch. Session recordings and heatmaps helped us surface both usability and usefulness gaps. From there, we designed an enhanced platform with advanced filtering, inventory watchlists, real-time bidding updates, and a dealer analytics dashboard.

Key Design Decisions

Decision 01

New Homepage

Quick actions, key metrics, notifications, financial summaries, and campaigns surfaced on load. Dealers know where to focus the moment they enter the platform.

Decision 02

Inventory at a Glance

Restructured car cards show real-time location and status in a consistent layout. No digging for basic information. Quick filters adapt to each dealer's preferences and shopping behaviour.

Decision 03

Consistent UI System

Unified component patterns across all modules reduce cognitive load and orientation time on any screen.

Decision 04 (Featured)

Mobile-First Procurement

Responsive design and role-aware My Garage let dealers source and manage inventory from the lot, not just a desk.

The Outcome

The redesigned platform became a tool dealers relied on rather than tolerated.

  • Dealer efficiency improved by 40% across sourcing and procurement workflows.
  • Recovered the equivalent of 13.3 man-days per week previously lost to manual coordination.
  • Engagement increased across My Garage and analytics tools.
  • Standardised design system reduced development friction and accelerated future feature delivery.
